Can I send you photos of my crafts?

Yes!! Send us your craft photos, team meetups, and glittery moments on Instagram via DMs or our Slack Channel named #crafts.

How can we make monetary donations?

Accepted Answer

We host our fundraiser through GoFundMe! All proceeds go towards covering shipping costs for mailing items to hospitals, purchasing craft supplies and materials, and supporting other organizational needs so that we can continue donating items. Thank you so much for your support!

Do you guys also send us a signature with the verified hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We also write a formal letter addressed to your school, stating who CCP is and acknowledging your hours. Additionally, we can digitally sign off on any forms you need to verify your hours. Check out our "volunteer" section for more on this!

How many days does it take to get the email confirmation?

It takes up to 5 business days to receive your confirmation email!
If it's been over 5 days, be sure to check all of your inboxes, including spam, promotions, trash, and social-sometimes emails get misplaced! If you still can't find the confirmation, please send us a quick email letting us know. We aim to respond within 5 days of your application. If it's been over 5 days, please remind us! Thank you for your patience!

Does Care Crafts accept crafts other than the specific ones mentioned?

Accepted Answer

If you have another craft that you'd like to make, send us an email so we can see if we could accept it and discuss how many hours you'd receive! Keep in mind that we have to work with the hospitals, and they only accept certain items. If you find a hospital local to you that accepts them, feel free to let us know so we can chat about whether this would be possible, along with the hours!

If you registered weeks ago and haven't sent in volunteer work, are you a registered volunteer?

Yes! Once you sign up and receive your Volunteer Confirmation Email, you're ready to start sending in your crafts anytime, no matter how long it's been.

If we need a document signed from you guys if we send it with our crafts will you send it back?

Accepted Answer

We can sign any necessary documentation, but we do it digitally!
We kindly ask that you don't mail us a form to sign. Instead, please email us a digital copy, and we'll send it back with a digital signature!

Do you accept donations from different countries?

Accepted Answer

Anyone from anywhere can be a volunteer! Since we are a U.S. based organization and shipping costs would be higher for international volunteers, we recommend that you do local drop-offs at hospitals near you! If you’re interested in this, sign up to volunteer like normal with the link in our bio. Within five days, you'll receive a Volunteer Confirmation Email that will include a "Local Drop-Off Guide" to help you get started!

How are we able to get service hours if we choose to donate our cards to local hospitals?

You'll receive an information packet in your volunteer confirmation email! Basically, you'll provide your hospital with a document to sign and send in to us, verifying that your hours are legitimate! Please wait to make any local drop-offs until you review this guide, as it's essential to follow it!

Are we able to write some cards in Spanish for Spanish-speaking patients?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can! However, if you're mailing them in, we have a preferred limit of 10 per package for now, as distributing them is more challenging, which is why it's lower! If you're interested in donating cards in another language that isn't English, we encourage local drop offs!

For cards, do you prefer them in boxes or envelopes?

Accepted Answer

We don't have a preference! Whatever is easiest and most affordable for you works! Just make sure your crafts are safe in their packaging to avoid any damage during shipping!

How do the service hours work exactly?

We grant different amounts of service hours based on the craft! This info is in the specific crafts highlight! Once we receive your crafts, we can verify your hours via email based on what you've completed. We can also provide additional verification for your needs, so check our "volunteer hours" highlight for more information!

Question 14

How many hours a year can we do?

Accepted Answer

We have a limit of 100 hours per year. You can continue donating after reaching 100 hours, but you won't receive service hours for those contributions. On January 1st of each year, your hours will reset, and you can earn 100 hours in the new year!

Is it okay if some of the cards are about God or faith? Or should they all be versatile?

Great question! We love that you want to share your faith, but since not everyone shares the same religion, we prefer that your cards refrain from any religious statements. However, we would love to see some kind words of encouragement!

Is it okay if we remake the same bead bracelets? or do they all have to be different?

Yes, that's totally fine if a few are! We love to see a variety, but we understand that it can be challenging to come up with so many different patterns!

How do I know I've been approved to start crafting and sending things in?

After you sign up, you'll receive a Volunteer Confirmation Email within five business days of applying. Once you receive this email, you're set to get crafting!
