volunteers of the month

meet Ella, our February volunteer of the month!
Hello! My name is Ella and I’m a high school junior from Georgia. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and listening to music. I decided to volunteer with Care Crafts Project because I wanted the chance to brighten someone’s day and let them know they’re seen and cared for, even by a stranger. My favorite part about volunteering is the creative freedom you have to make whatever you want. I have made 44 bracelet-making kits and 40 cards, for a total of 64 volunteer hours. I’m excited to continue volunteering and create even more in the future!

Hi everyone! My name is Ana, I’m currently a high school freshman from south Florida. In my free time, I like cooking, writing & spending time with my family. I decided to volunteer for CCP because it was a different yet creative way to get my volunteer hours in, while also helping other people. My favorite part of volunteering with CCP would be the creative freedom there is! You can create anything you enjoy while making others feel better, & getting hours for it. While here, I’ve accumulated 150+ hours by creating 100 hand-made cards & 101 bracelet making kits.

Hi! My name is Rachael and I am currently a junior in high school from Southern California! Outside of CCP, I love to spend time with my family and go on long drives with them to explore new places. My favorite season is winter because that’s when I put up my Christmas tree and decorations, listen to holiday music on the radio, and see all the festive holiday lights around the city. I decided to volunteer for Care Crafts Project because I knew that I could help brighten up other people’s days by doing what I do best, which is making crafts! One thing that especially stood out to me about CCP was its mission to bring joy and smiles to patients through heartfelt crafts. I knew immediately that it was something that I wanted to take part in and my way of spreading kindness to others, especially for those who may be going through difficult times.

Hi, my name is Anfisa! Originally, I’m from the country called Belarus, but my family and I moved to California about 5 years ago. I’m currently a junior in Santa Monica High School and I absolutely love drawing and painting in my free time, but also express that love for creativity through graphic design, which I’ve been taking at my school for about 2 years now. My love for drawing is a part of the reason why I decided to volunteer with Care Crafts Project: through this organization I was able to do what I love, while also brightening the mood of dozens of people all around the country! I love drawing the cute little drawings on the cards and coming up with silly puns that would go with the drawing, it’s so fun! This month I donated 120 cards, therefore earning 60 volunteering hours, but I won’t be stopping there!!

I live in Texas, and I’m a Senior at an Early College High school. I absolutely love theatre, I am a theatre kid at heart. I am big on communications and anything where I have the ability to make a big impact. I decided to volunteer for Care Crafts Project because I wanted to spread joy and hope to children. I loved every second of creating crafts, but most of all, I love the community. Everybody involved is so sweet, kind, and welcoming. Anytime I would send pictures of my crafts in progress, I would constantly get positive feedback which I appreciated. I created 100 carefully designed cards, with meaningful messages inside of each of them. All of them were unique in their own ways. I gained 50 community hours from this, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity.

Hello, I am Anastasia Musson! Outside of CCP, I am going to be a sophomore in Biomedical Engeineering at Purdue in Indiana. In my free time, I play the drums, paint, garden, and spend time with my family. I also volunteer at the hospital and IndyHumane while trying to study for the MCAT. I decided to volunteer at CCP to use my interest in crafting to bring joy to patients in hospitals near me. I know how scary and intimidating the hospital can be, so trying to give joy and peace to these people connects to me personally. I am from South Carolina, but I am in Indiana for most of the year (college). I have donated 200 bracelets, but I have made a total of 223 bracelets. I have earned 100 volunteer hours.
